Behind the
BRAND
We believe in raising children who feel at home in their bodies. Founded by Dr. Whitney Casares, a board-certified pediatrician, maternal-child health expert, and mom of two, this Raising Body Confident Kids is for parents who want something better than diet culture and better than toxic positivity. We’re here to break the generational cycle of shame and extremes — not by ignoring health, but by redefining it.
We help parents raise kids who are resilient in the face of unrealistic beauty standards, and who understand that health is about more than appearance — it’s about how you feel, how you function, and how you treat yourself. Simply telling our kids to “love their bodies” isn't enough. They need the tools, routines, and role models that support a lifetime of mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
WHITNEY CASARES, MD, MPH
CEO AND FOUNDER
Hi! I’m Dr. Whitney Casares — a board-certified pediatrician, maternal-child health advocate, author, speaker, and mom of two daughters. I’ve spent my career helping families navigate the real challenges of raising healthy, emotionally well kids — and I’ve spent my motherhood learning just how personal that work really is.
I created Raising Body Confident Kids because I know what it’s like to want the best for your child’s health, but to carry your own complicated history with food, weight, and body image. I’ve seen firsthand — in my patients and in my own home — how easy it is for kids to absorb toxic messages about what makes a body “good” or “worthy.” And I’ve seen the harm that pressure and perfectionism can do, even when it comes from a place of love.
That’s why I’m passionate about helping parents break the cycle. Here, I bring together my years of clinical expertise, public health training, and lived experience to offer something better: a balanced, evidence-based approach to raising kids who feel strong, capable, and at peace in their own skin.
This work isn’t about chasing a number on the scale. It’s about giving families the tools to focus on function over appearance, habits over hype, and self-respect over self-criticism — for both our kids and ourselves.
I’m so glad you’re here. Together, we can shift the conversation — from appearance to well-being, from shame to self-awareness, and from outdated norms to a healthier, more honest approach
